  • MickeyTen years ago, Micky was looking for a dental practice that offered all the dental care her family could need. She chose Buda Dental. She, her husband and her son started with routine dental cleanings and hygiene appointments. Although she was initially apprehensive, Micky began to consider cosmetic dentistry.

Micky had previous dental work on her front teeth that was failing and looked different. Nothing was the same color, shape or size. “I had gaps between my teeth, and my teeth were discolored. I also had some crowns that were failing. I never smiled, and if I did, I would turn my head so no one could see my teeth,” she says. “Dr. Taylor suggested I have restorations placed on my eight front teeth to create a balanced smile.”

Micky decided it was time to move forward with this life-changing experience, and she is so happy she did! “It was the best decision I ever made. The quality of Dr. Taylor’s work is superb. Now, I smile all the time! And I smile broadly. I have a lot of confidence.”, says Micky. Now, she wants others to enjoy the same feeling. “I would tell anyone who is unhappy with his or her smile that, hands down, you NEED to go to Buda Dental!”

  • JimmenaJimmena’s four children have been patients of Buda Dental since 2006. One day in 2010, while her children were with the dentist, Jimmena saw a survey posted in the office. The survey stated that Dr. Taylor was the dentist that many other dentists would use for their own dental care.

“That compelled me to consider the office for my needs,” says Jimmena. “Plus I had always had positive interactions with the staff. Competent, knowledgeable staff members are just as important to me as the care from the dentist.”

Jimmena’s teeth were in good condition, with the exception of one tooth that had previously been removed. She had the base of a dental implant in place, but had never had the porcelain crown made.

“I had always received compliments about my teeth and smile, however with the one tooth missing, I didn’t smile as big as I wanted to,” she says. She decided to have the implant completed at Buda Dental.

“I was very nervous to have dental work done, because some of my past experiences were painful. I met with Dr. Strickland and we decided that nitrous oxide sedation would help alleviate my anxiety for the procedure. They took measurements to have the dental crown made to fit the implant, and Dr. Strickland took her time making sure the shading of the tooth would match my existing teeth. The whole procedure didn’t seem to take very long, and was very comfortable.”

“I now have a new tooth and can fully smile again! I no longer feel self-conscious about my teeth. After my positive experience, I recommended my husband to Buda Dental,” says Jimmena. “Now our entire family is cared for by the great folks at Buda Dental!”

  • ZitaZita first came in to Buda Dental for a job interview and immediately knew that this was the place she wanted to work.

“I worked at Buda Dental for 10 years,” she says. “Working there, you really become educated on dental hygiene and dentistry as a whole. I now understand how important routine dental care is, and how it also promotes whole body health.”

Zita had all of her silver fillings removed and replaced with resin restorations. She also had periodontal therapy to get her gums in the condition she needed to have further dental work done.

“When I learned I could lose my teeth to periodontal disease, I did not hesitate to start therapy,” she says. “I have had some crowns placed on teeth that needed them and now I have a smile I am very proud of. I smile all the time.”

Even as a team member, Zita felt that while she was in the chair, she was treated like any other patient. “They cared for me, making sure I was comfortable. They kept me calm,” she says. “The entire team was very nurturing during my time as a patient. Because of that care, I bring my son here as well.”

“I would say to anyone looking to have dental work done, come here and talk to the team. They will look out for your best interests and make sure you are doing this for you. I am getting married soon and will be leaving the area. I will miss them all tremendously.”

  • Chuck’s teeth were in pretty bad shape. He had some missing teeth that caused the remaining teeth to shift and become crooked. They were also discolored and he was not really smiling much. Chuck wanted to fix his teeth to feel better about himself.

He made the decision to have his teeth fixed, but in the midst of a smile makeover, he lost trust in his previous dentist. Chuck’s son was a patient at Buda Dental, and recommended that Chuck see Dr. Taylor. Chuck called and explained his situation and the team at Buda Dental brought him right in to develop a treatment plan to complete his makeover.

Dr. Taylor restored several dental implants with porcelain crowns, and this made a world of difference in his smile…both the way it looked and the way it felt. “I smile all the time now and am not afraid to show off my teeth,” says Chuck. “I have a beautiful new smile and healthy teeth.”

“I have the utmost respect for the entire team at Buda Dental and praise them for the work they do,” he says. “They are very professional, yet friendly and treat you like family. After 25 years with our previous dentist, my wife now comes to Buda Dental too. I would not hesitate a minute to do it all over again.”

  • Tom and RoseWhen Tom and Rose moved to Austin over 11 years ago, they knew they were going to have to find a new family dentist. They were referred to Buda Dental by a neighbor who assured them that they would be very pleased with their care…and they have been.

They go for routine cleanings every three to six months, and have had very few problems with their teeth because of it.

Cid is the family’s dental hygienist. They especially like Cid. They like knowing that they see the same person every time they come in for a visit. She always educates them on the newest techniques that she is performing and explains the preventive measures she is taking while treating them.

“At Buda Dental they do everything they can to take care of you,” says Tom. “And not just your teeth, but your whole body. They get to know you as a person.”

“We have never felt more at home at a dentist office than here at Buda Dental,” says Rose. “Everyone at Buda Dental is so friendly. We feel like we are part of their family. You can feel the love of their work in how they perform. We have referred people to them as well. We want our friends and family to receive the same quality, compassionate care that we have. We tell them this is the only place they need to go!”

  • HaydnHaydn was concerned for the condition of his teeth, so he decided to go to Buda Dental. His wife and children were patients of Buda Dental and were all happy with their care.

“I never liked to smile,” says Haydn. “I tried to keep my teeth covered. But I wanted healthy, straight teeth.”

Dr. Taylor recommended a deep cleaning and then braces. “The periodontal cleanings took a few appointments to complete,” says Haydn. “But, the results were worth it. My teeth and gums were healthy and I was ready to move on to the next phase of treatment.”

“I am currently in orthodontics and Dr. Taylor continues to manage my care. I know I am in good hands.” says Haydn.

“The results are great. My gums look better and my dental health is now in order. It was such a positive experience. Going to the dentist is no longer a problem for me!”

  • LauraWhen Laura moved to the area over two years ago, she asked around for a dentist office that would be able to take care of her, her husband and their children. She was recommended to Buda Dental.

She originally came to see Dr. Taylor because she had a toothache and needed some help. “I knew my teeth were in bad shape; they were stained and had cavities. I was very embarrassed to smile.”

Dr. Taylor recommended deep cleaning and extensive periodontal treatment. The gums needed to be healthy before he could start fixing problems.

“I trusted Dr. Taylor. He was concerned for my health first, then how my smile looked. I decided upon a plan of treatment that fit our budget.”

Laura had had some bad experiences with dental work in the past, and was very nervous to begin treatment. “Everyone in the office put my fears to rest,” she says. “They made sure I was comfortable anytime I was in the office, even for a cleaning.”

The periodontal therapy took a few months of appointments to complete, but it was well worth it. “I could see and feel a difference in the health of my gums,” says Laura. “And I noticed a difference when I looked in the mirror.”

Today, Laura feels fantastic. “I feel so much healthier and I’m able to smile more freely. I’m still a work in progress, but know we have a treatment plan.”

The entire experience was positive. “Dr. Taylor and his team are so friendly,” says Laura. “He and Dr. Stickland are kind, down-to-earth people. My family has nothing but positive experiences every time we come here. We could never put into words the gratitude we feel for what they have been able to do for us.”

  • KyleAs a young professional, Kyle recognizes that self-confidence is not only important on a personal level, but also affects how he relates to people from a business perspective. When he was young, Kyle suffered trauma to one of his front teeth; although the tooth was saved, it had shifted and became severely discolored over the years. Additionally, the surrounding teeth were disproportionate in size and alignment. From being around friends to meeting with clients, it became obvious to him that he wasn’t letting his full personality shine through — he was hesitant to show a full smile.

“With my wedding approaching, I decided it was finally time to make the changes that I’d been thinking about for years. I met with Dr. Strickland, and together we formed a plan for bringing back my smile. After first arranging for me to see a periodontist to correct uneven gum recession, she then placed six porcelain veneers on my front teeth. I honestly didn’t realize how much it would affect my self-image, or how I related to people, until I experienced the significant change in my smile. I feel healthier overall and the results are a complete success!”

  • KirstenKirsten had a family dentist, but she really wasn’t happy with the quality of dental care she was receiving. “I had a bike accident in 2000 and lost three front teeth. My former dentist repaired the injury with outdated implant techniques. I was thrilled to have new teeth, but I wasn’t happy with how they looked or felt.”

In 2005, she asked her periodontist to recommend a good dentist; she was referred to Dr. Taylor. She’s been a patient ever since.

Kirsten originally came for regular cleanings and routine dental care, but Dr. Taylor noted that her bridge was loose and that her gums we becoming infected. Dr. Taylor explained a new technology had come out that would help a bridge fit the implants more securely. He recommended that they redo the bridge. “I could tell that he knew what we was doing, and I trusted him,” says Kirsten. “He created a treatment plan for a new bridge and we went from there.”

Dr. Taylor brought in an implant specialist and worked with him to create the perfect fit for the new bridge to the existing implant posts.

“Everything went quickly and smoothly and I was kept involved every step of the way,” says Kirsten. “They know what they are doing and the work was pain-free. The team’s focus on creating a beautiful smile is an added bonus. The new implant bridge is so solid compared to what I had before. I am more comfortable, and so much more confident! My teeth and smile are so healthy now.”
